After 6 long years I'm almost done with the rebuild. I put my steering together and gave it a quick left to right just to make sure everything was good, but no so good the servo isn't moving and it "springs back to the center" doesn't mater if it's left or right it springs back. Something to tight?

Not sure what you mean. Are you manually turning the tires with your hands then letting go to see them snap back?

I'd start by disconnecting the servo horn from the servo and make sure it still moves when the remote tells it to.
